Major Accident Involving Russian Peacekeeping Forces: 4 Women Killed on the Spot
Four women have died at the scene as a result of a traffic accident on the Stepanakert-Askeran highway. This information was provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.
On August 12, at 08:50, the operational management center of the traffic police received a report of a traffic accident on the section of the road opposite 19/1 Melikavan Street. Immediately, operational groups from the Police and the State Emergency Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the investigative team from the Investigative Committee, were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that around 08:45 the same day, at the intersection in front of the house at 19/1 Melikavan Street, a collision occurred between a "HAVAL H9" vehicle driven by Russian peacekeeping forces driver I.Y. (born in 1992) and a "VAZ-2107" vehicle driven by E.G. (born in 1996), a resident of the Sarushen community in the Askeran region.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the "VAZ-2107" was transported to the Republic Medical Center with fractures and a diagnosis of a laceration of the lower lobe of the right lung. The passengers of this vehicle—H.G. (born in 1971, Sarushen community in Askeran), N.D. (born in 1970, Aygestan village in Askeran), L.M. (born in 1972, Aygestan village in Askeran), and S.S. (born in 1966, Aygestan village in Askeran)—all died on the spot.
The Investigative Committee of Artsakh is conducting an investigation.
