VIDEO: Armed Men Arrested on Northern Avenue

On August 9, another case of illegal possession of weapons and drugs was uncovered thanks to the cooperation of the Criminal Police Main Department and the Central District Department. Acting upon operational information received by the criminal police, the law enforcement officers arrested three men on Northern Avenue based on suspicions of holding weapons and drugs. Two of the arrestees are residents of Vanadzor, and one hails from the village of Alagyaz in the Aragatsotn province.

During a search of the Vanadzor residents, a loaded Makarov pistol with 8 rounds of 9mm ammunition was found, as well as a white powdery substance that preliminary analysis suggests could be cocaine. In the pocket of the Alagyaz resident, police discovered a folding knife with a blade length of 9 cm. Expert examinations have been ordered, and circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
