Parents of Fallen Soldiers Wait Over 5 Hours, Yet Are Not Received by the Ministry of Defense

More than five hours of waiting ended without any official from the Ministry of Defense receiving the parents of fallen soldiers. Vahid Sahakyan stated that the ministry informed them that they are unable to summon Battalion Commander Pavlik Kyaramyan for confrontation.

“We were told that bringing Pavlik Kyaramyan for confrontation is within the investigator's jurisdiction. We will determine our further steps regarding this matter. But we are here with our demands. We want to meet with the Minister of Defense, as there are questions that concern us. Now we are waiting for when Suren Papikyan will accept us,” said the father of one of the deceased.

It’s important to note that the parents of soldiers protesting in front of the Ministry of Defense are from the 4th Battalion of the 5th Defense Zone of Martakert. The soldiers were killed on October 30 at Uryan Mountain. The parents are demanding a meeting with Battalion Commander Pavlik Kyaramyan, whom they accuse of being responsible for their sons' deaths. They also demand a meeting with either Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan or Deputy Minister Arman Sargsyan.

For a long time, the parents have been trying to clarify the circumstances surrounding their sons' deaths. They have expressed their outrage over the fact that the same battalion commander Pavlik Kyaramyan was awarded the 1st Class Combat Cross, despite not participating in the combat operations.

Furthermore, today the parents attempted to enter the Ministry of Defense, but they were not allowed in.
