VIDEO: Bear in Russia, whose den was burned, entered firefighters' camp
A bear, whose den was burned, arrived at the firefighters' camp located on the banks of the Radom River in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. According to the news agency RIA Novosti, this was reported by the engineer of the "Tsentrspas-Yugoria" fire protection service, Ksenia Bakshaeva.
She stated that at the end of July, a working group of 19 people ventured 180 kilometers from the city of Nyagan to extinguish landscape fires. The fire drove the young bear, which had lost its den, closer to the firefighters. At the camp, the predator found food; it ate canned goods by opening containers with its teeth and biscuits that the rescuers had prepared for themselves.
"Whenever the bear came, everyone would run into the hunting cabin and film the bear from there. These visits continued for three more nights. The working group joked that there were 19 of us in the camp, while Misha was the 20th," said the agency's contact.
Since August 2, a state of emergency has been declared in the Yugra region due to forest fires. As of today, 66 fires have been recorded in the area, of which 21 have been localized.
