Residents of Aghavno Letter to Biden, Macron, Pashinyan, and Araik Harutyunyan
The National-Democratic Axis has received an open letter signed by 56 residents of the Aghavno community:
Aghavno, Berdzor, Armenia
OPEN LETTER - APPEAL
From the residents of Aghavno to:
United States President Joe Biden,
French President Emmanuel Macron,
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan,
Stepanakert’s Araik Harutyunyan.
According to the points outlined in the agreement regarding the end of the war, the continuing hybrid, aggressive acts have led to the depopulation of Artsakh, which has long been part of Armenia, and its voluntary surrender to the enemy. According to the three-party document of November 9, 2020, a new corridor towards the Syunik region was supposed to be constructed within three years. The well-known village of Aghavno is only 1200 meters away from this infamous corridor, yet the depopulation and handover of Aghavno to Azerbaijan is becoming inevitable.
Today, as a result of the treacherous policies of the officials in Yerevan and Stepanakert, millennia-old Armenian villages and cities are continuously being depopulated. The next, according to the secret agreement between Yerevan and Baku, will be the relatively young Aghavno.
Your Excellency, esteemed President Joe Biden,
Your Excellency, esteemed President Emmanuel Macron,
The residents of Aghavno village are requesting and appealing for your active and immediate intervention and mediation to include the village of Aghavno in the new corridor area to prevent this humanitarian disaster, as a result of which we will lose our homes, our way of life, another part of our homeland, and possibly even our lives.
The ongoing secret deal between Yerevan and Baku is nothing short of a form of genocide and leads to the emergence of a new group of refugees represented by us. The Artsakh authorities have sent emissaries to us, who have openly called for us to leave our homes, claiming they will be unable to ensure our safety after the treacherous transfer of the village, while the local Russian forces will withdraw from this area.
We no longer have any hope except for your intervention and mediation, as leaders of two friendly states to Armenia, the United States and France, to prevent what seems to be an impending and unavoidable humanitarian disaster.
We demand that the Yerevan and Stepanakert authorities take immediate measures to include the village of Aghavno in the new corridor—the Kornidzor corridor. The matter of 1200 meters, you can certainly resolve with your counterpart in Baku. If, of course, you want to. You must want this. You are obligated to want this.
Residents of Aghavno community
It should be noted that today the Axis will submit the letter-appeal from the residents of Aghavno to the embassies of the USA and France.
