Peaceful slogans are sexier but more catastrophic: Discussion of Grigoryan's past post

A previous post by secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan from 2014 has gone viral on the internet. At that time, he was in the opposition and engaged in civil society, publishing articles in various media outlets.

In this post, Armen Grigoryan states: “Any pacifist movement is initially doomed to fail. The only guarantee of peace is a balance of power, and to ensure that balance, one must be prepared for war.” Pacifism is the pursuit of peace. He cites the example that the peace-loving Chamberlain brought catastrophic war upon England.

Armen Grigoryan further mentioned: “Yes, it’s true that peaceful slogans are sexier, but they are more catastrophic. Those preparing for war have brought more peace to the world than those preparing for peace.”
