Israel Agrees to Ceasefire: Timeline for Implementation Revealed
On August 7, at 8:00 PM local time, a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine is set to take effect in Gaza, according to Reuters, citing a Palestinian official. Earlier, it had been reported that Israel agreed to a ceasefire proposed through Egyptian mediation.
“The ceasefire in Gaza will commence at 8:00 PM local time,” the agency's report stated.
It was previously reported that Israel had been negotiating for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip with Egyptian mediation. On Friday, the Israeli military had launched an operation against the 'Islamic Jihad' organization in Gaza. On August 5, the Israeli army commenced 'Dawn' operation against the 'Islamic Jihad' group in the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces struck targets in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 people and injuries to over 200.
Reports also indicated the deaths of senior commanders of 'Islamic Jihad', Taysir al-Jabari and Khaled Mansour.
