Noteworthy Situation: Following Jhangiryan's Resignation, Some Judges May Submit Resignation Requests
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports on a noteworthy situation within the judiciary system. According to information received by "Zhoghovurd", following the resignation of acting president of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Jhangiryan, several judges may submit resignation requests in the near future.
The matter is that many judges have lost their backing, and in this context, they prefer to write resignation requests. The first to resign is expected to be Tigran Simonyan, a judge of the Court of Appeal of Armenia, and it is possible that this resignation will be followed by other judges as well.
Incidentally, this confusion among judges and the feeling of being unprotected began after the election of Mkhitar Papoyan as the president of the Court of Appeal, rather than the preferred candidate of Gagik Jhangiryan, Sevak Hambardzumyan.
Details will be available in the newspaper's current issue.
