"I Tend to Assume That Azerbaijan is Now Starting to Speak About Its Victims from 2 Days Ago" - Metakse Hakobyan

Information has surfaced on the internet regarding renewed gunfire along the borders of Artsakh this morning. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has also issued a statement accusing Armenia of violating the trilateral agreement concerning Nagorno-Karabakh.

Auroranews contacted Metakse Hakobyan, a member of the Justice faction in the Artsakh Parliament, to ascertain the accuracy of the circulating news. “I do not believe that this reflects reality. In any case, there is still no official statement. I tend to assume that Azerbaijan is now starting to speak about its victims from 2 days ago, demonstrating that this has occurred today. The tension has not eased; it still exists, but the statements issued by Azerbaijan do not correspond to reality,” Hakobyan stated in our conversation.

It should be noted that starting from 09:00 on August 1, Azerbaijani units attempted provocations in several sections of the northern and northwestern borders of the Artsakh Republic, making attempts to breach the contact line, which were thwarted by the forces of the Defense Army.
