The Navy Will Respond with Lightning Speed: Putin

 The Russian Navy is capable of responding at lightning speed to anyone who decides to encroach on the country's sovereignty and freedom. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a parade dedicated to the Day of the Navy. His words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

 “The key aspect here is the capabilities of the naval forces. They are able to respond at lightning speed to those who decide to encroach on our sovereignty and freedom,” he said.

 The Russian leader emphasized that the Russian Navy effectively and honorably fulfills strategic tasks within the country’s borders and in any part of the world's oceans.

 “The Navy has high readiness for active operations with all its means. These are constantly being improved,” noted Putin.

 Vladimir Putin reminded that Russia has indicated in its Naval Doctrine that it will address security issues.

 “Russia’s new Naval Doctrine has also been established. We have clearly defined the borders of Russia and the zones of national interests,” he emphasized.

 According to him, the focus is primarily on the Arctic waterways, the Black, Okhotsk, and Bering Seas, as well as the waters of the Baltic and Kuril Straits.

 “We will firmly ensure their protection by all means,” stated the Russian president.

 In Russia, the Day of the Navy is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of July. This year, the Russian Navy marks its 326th anniversary. Additionally, this year the fleet welcomed the nuclear submarine Belgorod, which will become the first test carrier of the Poseidon underwater nuclear drones.

 According to the Kremlin's website, Putin, accompanied by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Nikolai Yevmenov, and acting commander of the Western Military District Vladimir Kochetkov, passed in front of the combat ships during the raid in the Gulf of Finland and Kronstadt.

 Earlier, Deputy Commander of the Navy Vladimir Kasatonov informed reporters that this time 47 ships and 42 aircraft would participate in the parade. During the Kronstadt parade, submarines Severodvinsk, Magadan, and Vepr will take part. Innovations include a female crew and a large number of sailing ships.

 The parade will conclude with a ceremonial march of the parade formations along the coastal area of Senate Square.
