Russia's Defense Ministry official representative, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, stated in a briefing that the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the United States bear full responsibility for the strike on Ukrainian POWs at the Yelenovka investigative isolation facility using HIMARS.
“The entire political, criminal, and moral responsibility for the bloody slaughter against Ukrainians rests personally with Zelensky, his criminal regime, and their supporters in Washington,” he said.
Konashenkov noted that as a result of the Ukrainian missile strike on the isolation facility in Yelenovka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held, 50 people had died. According to the general, the bodies of 48 POWs were found and retrieved from the rubble of the facility’s buildings.
“Another two Ukrainian POWs died from serious injuries on their way to a medical facility,” Konashenkov added.
He also mentioned that 73 Ukrainian POWs had been transferred to medical institutions with severe injuries, and all of them received the necessary medical assistance.
