VIDEO: 'I Hate Russians' - Norwegian Consulate Employee at the Center of Scandal
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has accused Elizabeth Elingsen, an administrative staff member at the Norwegian consulate, of nationalism and xenophobia. This comes after her offensive remarks made in a hotel in Murmansk, where she created a scandal and voiced her dissatisfaction with Russians.
Previously, a scandalous video circulated online showing a woman actively complaining about the service provided by hotel staff in Murmansk while using the phrase 'I hate Russians.' The woman demanded her room key and insisted that she is from Scandinavia and therefore 'has learned how to clean rooms.'
'I am not a Russian woman who somehow cleans. This is not cleanliness. Can I even sleep in this bed?' the woman added in the published video.
It turned out that the main character of the video is Elizabeth Elingsen, who is an employee of the Norwegian consulate.
Zakharova noted that the consulate employee 'did not restrain herself, openly revealing her malice.' She stated, 'At this moment, the Russian Foreign Ministry is developing options for responding to this blatant act of hatred, nationalism, and xenophobia. If the Norwegian Foreign Ministry does not act before us, it would be the right thing to do. This citizen's statements clearly sounded hatred towards one nationality and transparent national superiority.'
