VIDEO: Fire in Yakutia Initially Contained, Later Intensifies
The forest fire near the village of Arilakh in Yakutia's Mirninsky District, which resulted in the destruction of three houses, has been contained. This was reported today by the operational headquarters of the republic.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire started on July 27, four kilometers from the village. Due to strong winds, the flames spread rapidly, reaching the settlement within a few hours.
Rescuers were able to extinguish the fire that broke out in the village of Arilakh. There were no casualties or injuries. However, the forest fire later rekindled, prompting notifications for evacuations of residents.
It was noted that evacuations were declared only for those wishing to leave Arilakh. An emergency situation was declared in the Mirninsky District of Yakutia on July 28. According to the agency's information, a total of 101 forest fires have been registered across the republic, covering more than 109 hectares. A total of 1,044 personnel and 82 units of equipment are involved in fighting the forest fires.
