Without Intrigues: Russia's Foreign Ministry on Other Actors in Yerevan and Baku Relations

Moscow is not opposed to the inclusion of new actors in the process of normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku, provided they operate within the framework of trilateral statements and without hidden intrigues, stated Ivan Nechayev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The main thing is that there are no repetitions and hidden games aimed at weakening someone or throwing a wrench in the works. Unfortunately, we have repeatedly encountered such practices from the aforementioned figures,” he said.

According to Nechayev, Russia advocates for turning the South Caucasus into a zone of peace and prosperity, promoting an exclusively constructive agenda in regional matters and is not looking to compete with anyone.

As for the normalization of relationships between Baku and Yerevan, he recalled that the appropriate efforts should be made based on the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia from November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26.
