Russian Side Comments on Scholz's Statements
The statements made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding the unreliability of the Russian Federation as a gas supplier contradict the reality and history of supplies; Russia has always fulfilled its obligations, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia.
“These statements are absolutely contrary to reality and history. Even in the most difficult times, the Russian side has continued to fulfill its obligations. The fact that the volumes of supply have now decreased is again due to illegal restrictions imposed by the Europeans, particularly by the Federal Republic of Germany,” Peskov told reporters.
He reminded that President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation stated in Tehran that Gazprom has fulfilled, is fulfilling, and will reliably fulfill its obligations. In Europe, it is regularly noted that issues related to turbines cannot be the real cause of the drop in gas flow.
The Russian side has repeatedly emphasized that the reduction of supplies through the 'Nord Stream' is exclusively due to the sanctions that have created problems related to the repair of gas pumping stations.
Thus, President Vladimir Putin has stated that Gazprom is fulfilling and intends to fulfill all its obligations and is ready to pump as much as necessary.
