Intense Forest Fires Raging in Turkey

Intense efforts are underway to combat forest fires in the Emmet region of Turkey's western Kütahya province. As of early morning, 26 helicopters, 9 planes, 78 fire engines, 8 bulldozers, and a crew of around 600 are involved in firefighting operations.

The fire, which broke out the day before in the forested area between the villages of Kürüji and Samrik, has been challenging to extinguish throughout the night despite both ground and aerial interventions. Kütahya's governor, Ali Celik, reported that the fire continues to ravage 200 hectares of forested land. Meanwhile, Turkey’s Ministry of Defense has announced the deployment of a drone to assist the firefighters.
