Armed Robbery in Yerevan: Suspects Claiming to be Russians Threaten with Knife
On July 24, an armed robbery occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 12:30 PM, a Russian citizen, 23-year-old A. Prokhorov, reported to the city police that at around 2:00 AM the same day, he and his friends, Russian citizens 23-year-old E. Balasanyan and 23-year-old A. Korchagin, were at the upper level of the Cascade complex when they were approached by three young men, two of whom claimed to be Russian. One of the assailants was armed with a knife and demanded money and gold.
According to reports from Shamshyan.com, Prokhorov stated that one of his friends handed over a gold ring, while the other provided a silver bracelet. The three then proceeded to the ATM of “Ay Di Bank” located at 2 Freedom Square, where Prokhorov withdrew cash and handed it over to the robbers. Subsequently, the suspects fled the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The police and investigative department are conducting necessary operational and investigative measures to identify the individuals responsible for the crime and to recover the stolen items.
