Washington considers the upcoming decade to be crucial for U.S.-China relations, particularly in economic terms. This was stated by Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor.

He expressed the view that the current administration's strategy regarding Beijing allows for a stronger position compared to former President Donald Trump's tenure. Sullivan explained that this strategy focuses on investing in areas that are vital for the U.S., as well as uniting with allies and partners.

At the same time, Sullivan emphasized the importance of ensuring that competition between Washington and Beijing does not escalate into conflict or a new 'Cold War'.
