Group of Women Dispute at Hotel Parking Lot Results in Stabbing of 28-Year-Old Woman
On July 21, at 5:20 PM, the police received a report from the hospital that a woman had been admitted with a "stab wound to the anterior surface of the chest, a penetrating wound without organ damage, accompanied by damage to an intercostal artery and hemorrhagic shock." The police of Armenia have stated that an operational group dispatched to the hospital identified the victim as a 28-year-old resident of the capital.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 166 of the RA Criminal Code (Causing Serious Harm to Health). As a result of joint efforts by officers from the Kotayk regional department, Kotayk division, Yerevan police department, and the Central division, it was revealed that a group of women had been arguing over domestic issues in the parking lot of a hotel complex located at the 23rd km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway. During the dispute, a 34-year-old woman stabbed the victim.
Following operational-investigative and investigative actions, the 34-year-old woman presented herself to the Central Police Division and handed over the knife used in the crime. She was presented to the initiating body and provided a confession. The criminal proceedings are ongoing.
