Better Dancing Will Not Be Forgiven for Marukyan: What Gegham Manukyan Has Initiated
Member of the National Assembly from the Armenia faction Gegham Manukyan wrote on his Facebook page: “It seems I will have to go to the National Assembly because of Marukyan and either prohibit the special ambassador from doing something. I am scheduled to present a legislative initiative in September. This concerns Article 16 of the RA law on ‘Diplomatic Service,’ which defines the functions and duties of a special ambassador.
I will propose that a subparagraph is added to the currently active article. The law states that ‘...in order to resolve certain issues in international relations, the Prime Minister may appoint a special ambassador, or special missions may be established by the Government’s decision, which may include both diplomats and other individuals.’ Perhaps I will suggest the following content as an addition to this article: ‘It is forbidden for a special ambassador to: - consider themselves a slave of the appointing authority and attempt to justify every foolish statement on social media, in interviews, and in speeches. - interfere in domestic political issues at every moment, like a tail-less spoon, for the sake of pleasing the boss. - feel obligated to rapidly disseminate every illogical thought expressed by their friendly or party circles, even if the special ambassador has placed someone in a job in the public system through flattery and the benevolence of the boss. - serve the interests of hostile states, such as Azerbaijan and Turkey, rather than the Republic of Armenia.’
What do you think? Shall I make these changes? Previously, these points were not included in the law because no one imagined that someone like Edmon Marukyan could attain such a status, consistently appearing at the forefront of those defending Pashinyan and, regardless of the topic, always trying to justify his boss. The occasion for this post was Marukyan's statement today, although this thought has long existed, when Marukyan was becoming the shield of Pashinyan, justifying concessions, retreats, anti-democratic actions, and violence. Today he suddenly remembered that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia should be defended abroad. He said nothing about why such a thought came to him at this moment. Perhaps he did not dare to directly address the absurd justification of the authorities for banning the entry of Murad Papazyan, a member of the Bureau of the ARF and an important representative of the Armenian community in France, but clearly had to justify that nonsensical decision within the unspoken framework of his obligations. I will not delve deep into the thoughts expressed, as time is precious.
However, there is a Persian tale regarding Marukyan's behavior: centuries ago, a deposed Persian king returned to his throne and ordered that only one of the palace dancers be hanged. This girl, with her last hope, revolted, saying that they all danced in the king’s absence. The king's response was brief: ‘But you danced for the conspirators when I was gone.’ Therefore, better dancing will not be forgiven for Marukyan. (This is not a call for violence or revenge). Marukyan has already received his greatest punishment. Greetings from the honorable women of the market in the capital of Artsakh...
