Russia Resumes Gas Supplies to Germany Today
After a ten-day interruption, Russia today has resumed its gas supplies to Germany via the 'Nord Stream 1' pipeline. This was announced by the operator company Nord Stream AG, addressing concerns that the technical maintenance period might be prolonged.
Gazprom had halted gas supplies since July 11, citing annual technical maintenance work as the reason. Through the 'Nord Stream 1' pipeline, Europe receives 55 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia each year.
Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions imposed on Russia, and Moscow's policy of using energy resources as a weapon, Europe is exercising caution, preparing for potential further reductions in Russian gas supplies.
