Car Catches Fire in Republic Square

On July 20, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 11:15 PM, a call was received at the 911 emergency management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding a vehicle on fire in Republic Square.

According to shamshyan.com, before the firefighters arrived, the driver of the burning Volkswagen, 22-year-old Varo B., along with the police officers known as the 'red berets' who serve in the Republic Square, first contained the fire's spread and then extinguished the flames with the arriving rescuers.

The engine compartment of the vehicle was burned. The patrol police from the Yerevan division also arrived promptly.
