Explosion in Noramarg Village: Regional and Masis Police Chiefs Arrive
On July 19, an emergency incident occurred in the Ararat region. At around 23:10, the 911 crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call indicating that a fire had broken out in the Noramarg administrative district of the consolidated community of Masis.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, 2 firefighting teams quickly arrived from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Rescue Service unit 25. A complexity level 2 fire was declared on site, and an additional 2 firefighting teams subsequently arrived.
It was determined that an explosion occurred due to a gas leak, which led to a fire and the collapse of the structural elements of the house. Fortunately, according to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
The head of the Ararat regional police, Saribek Rustamyan, and the chief of the Masis police department, Vahagn Grigoryan, also arrived promptly at the scene. As a result of the explosion and fire, a portion of a residential home and a barn were damaged. According to G. Shamshyan’s information, the house was not connected to the gas supply, but rather, the explosion was due to a 20 kg gas cylinder.
