Major and Tragic Accident in Gegharkunik Region: VAZ 2115 Collides with PAZ Bus, 1 Dead and 3 Injured

On July 18, at 00:41, a call was received at the Gegharkunik regional crisis management center indicating an accident occurred on the Gavar-Sevan highway, with casualties reported.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has dispatched an operational group from the regional rescue department and a fire-rescue team to the scene. It was revealed that at the 27th kilometer of the Sevan-Martuni-Geghapan highway, a VAZ-2115 vehicle (driver G. G., born in 1988) collided with a LAZ bus (driver A. Sh., born in 1982). The driver of the bus was hospitalized in Gavar city before the rescuers arrived, with doctors assessing his condition as satisfactory.

Rescue workers disconnected the electrical systems of the vehicles, closed the valves of the gas cylinders, and extracted the driver’s body from the VAZ-2115, bringing it closer to the ambulance.
