Cover-Up of the Bloody Killings in Aparan: Yerevan Today

Cover-Up of the Bloody Killings in Aparan: Yerevan Today

The case of the killings that took place in Aparan on June 19 is being covered up, reports Yerevan Today.

Exactly one month after the June 19 shootings, 27-year-old Samvel Sandroyan has still not regained consciousness. He is an employee of the National Security Service, kept under intense supervision at Armenia Medical Center, connected to artificial respiratory devices, and most tragically, the bullet from the gunshot remains lodged in his head. The young man only breathes, remaining completely unconscious.

Now, according to his relatives, Samvel has developed acute pneumonia, and doctors are struggling to save him but do not offer hope, urging the family to rely solely on God. Samvel's brother, Grigor, stated that doctors have been unable to remove the bullet from his head due to its dangerous location.

According to him, Samvel's chances of survival are critically low, with pneumonia worsening the situation. It is worth noting that the other four injured from the shootings in Nigavan were also transferred to Armenia Medical Center; all have since been discharged and resumed normal life, including a minor from Aparan who sustained a lung injury and recently turned eighteen, making him eligible for military service.

The media also reported: "Let us remind you, two youths tragically lost their lives at that moment: 27-year-old contract serviceman Hamik Matevosyan and 28-year-old Tigran Harutyunyan, who worked in Gntunik and was the nephew of the owner, who is none other than the mayor of Aparan, Karen Yeghiazaryan.”

It has previously been reported that in connection with these sensational murders, there is only one detainee: 32-year-old Hayk Hovhannisyan from Yerevan, who is accused of illegal arms possession and murder under Article 104, part 2, clause 6 and Article 235, part 1 of the Criminal Code. Notably, the name and other details of the only detainee have been persistently kept secret by the investigation committee, with the media disclosing the name.

Furthermore, the case has been sent to Yerevan. It is emphasized that there are no new suspects or individuals wanted, as confirmed by the Investigative Committee to Yerevan Today.

It is presumed that initial investigative actions are being conducted in such a manner that only one individual is declared guilty in this incident, clearing individuals linked to the ruling Civil Contract party whose names have been disclosed by the relatives of the deceased and the press.

It seems illogical that one person supposedly fired at seven others with the same weapon, killing two young men, severely injuring another, and wounding four. It creates the image that after the first shot was fired, the rest stood idly, including supporters of the shooter, who did not interfere, flee, or resist; on the contrary, they reportedly stood in line waiting to be killed or wounded. This is absurd.

Meanwhile, more than 50 individuals were connected to the incident; approximately half of those present were directly involved in the shooting incidents. Yet, as it appears, the Investigative Committee is inclined to declare only one person guilty, namely Hayk, whose actual involvement in this bloody incident remains unclear.

The Investigative Committee reported just one day after this highly publicized murder case that circumstances surrounding the incident had been investigated and motives revealed. This was stated in the committee's first and so far only released announcement. Recall also the police's controversial message regarding the political motivations behind the gunfire incident in Aparan.
