27-Year-Old NSS Employee Injured by Gunfire in Nigavan Still Unconscious, Bullet Not Removed from Head
One month after the shootings in Aparan on June 19, 27-year-old Samvel Sandroyan, an employee of the National Security Service (NSS), remains unconscious. This information was reported by Yerevan.Today, which spoke with Samvel's brother, Grigori.
Following an altercation near Nigavan on June 19, two residents of Aparan were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds, but both succumbed to their injuries, while five others were transferred to medical centers. A 32-year-old man suspected of the shooting has been detained.
“Samvel Sandroyan is under strict medical supervision at Armenia Medical Center. He is connected to artificial respiration devices, and most distressingly, the bullet from the gunshot is still lodged in his head. The doctors have not removed it, stating that it is in a dangerous area. 'He only breathes and is in a state of unconsciousness,'” Grigori mentioned.
According to him, as a result of lying motionless, Samvel has developed acute pneumonia, and the doctors are fighting against it, but they do not offer much hope, urging only to rely on God. Grigori added that his brother's chances of survival are very slim, as the pneumonia has exacerbated his condition.
It should be noted that it was reported by Sputnik Armenia that the deceased Tigran Harutyunyan, who died at Astghik Medical Center, is a relative of Karen Yeghiazaryan, the Mayor of Aparan. The 28-year-old Tigran worked at the Gntunik supermarket.
