US Embassy Expresses Concern Over Safety of Its Citizens in Armenia: What Threats Exist?
The US Embassy in Armenia has issued a statement announcing the recruitment of volunteers to identify, evacuate, and report on injuries to American citizens during emergencies.
Community liaison volunteers are required to provide administrative information to American citizens, as well as information about events occurring in their neighborhoods. They will also assist in helping missing Americans during emergencies or visiting US citizens in prison, hospitals, etc.
According to Oragir.news, there is an interesting point in the responsibilities of the volunteer. If the embassy receives a report that an American citizen has been injured away from the capital, the relevant embassy staff may ask a nearby volunteer to check and report on the condition of the injured person.
This raises the question: Is the Republic of Armenia truly fraught with dangers? What does the US Embassy know that we are not aware of, which makes them so concerned about the safety of their citizens?
