VIDEO: Nikol Pashinyan Introduces New Chief of General Staff to Armed Forces' Senior Command
Assuming this responsible position, esteemed Prime Minister, I commit to fulfilling all assigned functional duties and addressing the tasks at hand.
This was stated by the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Edward Asryan, during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
In turn, the Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan, congratulated Edward Asryan on his appointment and wished him fruitful work.
Today, Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Deputy Minister of Defense Edward Asryan, to the senior command of the Armed Forces.
It is noteworthy that Major General Edward Asryan previously served as the head of the Operational Directorate of the RA Armed Forces General Staff, a position he was appointed to on May 21, 2021.
Recall that Edward Asryan was one of the 44 officials who signed under the statement by Onik Gasparyan.
Since February 24, 2022, the position of Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia was vacant. On that day, Artak Davtyan was dismissed from the position for the second time. He had been appointed to this position on March 22, 2021, replacing Onik Gasparyan.
