Mika Badalyan's Detention Extended by 20 Days
Bloggers Mika Badalyan's detention has been extended by 20 days. This was announced by his lawyer Erik Aleksanyan on Facebook.
“Mika Badalyan's detention period has been extended by 20 days,” the lawyer wrote, adding that the decision was made by Judge Shirinyan.
It is noted that after the new Armenian Criminal Code came into effect, Article 259 was abolished; however, the investigator proposed extending the detention based on that article.
Ten activists of the 'Resistance' protest movement have been arrested in various criminal cases. The opposition considers their arrest to be political prosecution.
