Major Fire in Yerevan: Numerous Firefighters Battle the Blaze

A major fire has broken out in Yerevan. At around 16:50, the 911 crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report that a fire had ignited on the roof of the 'VAS' supermarket located at 6 Khorenatsi Street and nearby residential buildings.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, four fire-fighting units and a fire ladder from the Ministry of Emergency Situations quickly arrived at the scene. An operational group from the crisis management department of the ministry also reached the location.

Currently, enhanced services are being conducted by the patrol department of the Yerevan battalion, who have cordoned off the area to allow firefighters to work without obstruction. The fire has been classified at a 'BIS 1' danger level.

Medical teams from Yerevan's emergency services are also present on site to assist any injured individuals if necessary.
