Azerbaijani Veteran Self-Immolates in Front of Authorities

In 2020, another participant in the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh attempted to take his own life. This was announced by editor Gulmira Aslanova on her Facebook page, as reported by Infoteka24.

It is noted that Elvin Zakir oglu Jafarov, a veteran from the Sabirabad region, self-immolated in front of representatives of the local executive authority. He was subsequently transported to Hospital No. 5 in Baku with severe burns.

This marks the second incident of this nature in Sabirabad. Regarding suicide attempts and completed suicides among veterans throughout Azerbaijan, the numbers are tenfold higher. To date, more than 20 incidents are known. Aslanova stated that only in the last two weeks, two unidentified veterans have reached out to her, expressing their intent to commit suicide and asking for help.
