Will 8.2 Billion Drams of Illegal Assets and Properties Be Confiscated from Vachagan Ghazaryan?

The court has accepted the prosecution's claim to confiscate around 8.2 billion drams worth of illegal assets and properties belonging to former deputy head of the State Protection Service, Vachagan Ghazaryan (Serj's Vacho), and four associates connected to him.

The Prosecutor's Office notes that this is the 11th application regarding the confiscation of illegally acquired property that has been accepted for proceedings.

The prosecution demands the seizure of 17 apartments, land plots, buildings, and parking lots located in Yerevan from Vachagan Ghazaryan and his associates. Of these, 4 are located in the Avan administrative district, 5 on Admiral Isakov Avenue, and 5 on Teryan Street, as well as in the Aygestan neighborhood and on Amiryan and Khorenatsi streets.

Also subject to confiscation is a resort area in Tsaghkadzor, a land plot located in the Armavir region, and 6 vehicles. If confiscation proves impossible, the Prosecutor's Office demands the confiscation of the average market value of the mentioned immovable and movable assets, which totals 6 billion drams.
