Range Rover Found After Being Shot at with Kalashnikov
On July 5, law enforcement officials discovered a Range Rover in the Kotayk region, which had multiple bullet marks on its windshield and side panels. According to Shamshyan.com from the crime scene, a special investigative team led by Andranik Mkheyan, senior investigator for particularly important cases at the Gegharkunik Regional Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, submitted a request to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Gegharkunik Region's Gavar residence seeking permission for a search. This was to allow police and investigators to examine a suspicious Range Rover found in a garage of one of the houses in the Vanatur neighborhood of Hrazdan.
After several hours of closed court proceedings, the court returned from deliberation and decided to grant the request.
Shortly after, police and investigators, along with forensic experts from the Gegharkunik Regional Department, located the Range Rover in the specified garage. By the order of the investigative group leader, it was transported via tow truck to the secured location of the Sevan police department in the presence of witnesses.
According to G. Shamshyan, the police and investigators suspect that the gunshots were fired on July 4, at the beginning of the Gagarin village. Criminal proceedings have been initiated by A. Mkheyan on charges of hooliganism with the use of weapons and illegal possession, storage, and use of firearms under the Armenian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
