In the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's main department for particularly important cases, as part of a criminal proceeding regarding the creation and leadership of a criminal subculture by a person of the highest rank in the criminal hierarchy, extensive procedural and investigative actions have been carried out. This included corresponding measures undertaken by the National Security Service of Armenia and the Prosecutor's office.
As a result, five individuals have been detained, including Suren Avetisyan, known as 'Bashi Tgha Suro Lenankanski', Artyom Ghazaryan, known as 'Zapi Yegan Artyom Lenankanski', and Tsolak Gevorgyan.
As previously reported, Suren Avetisyan, who holds a high-ranking status as a 'thief in law', has led the criminal group he established, using his illegal influence to give the group members assignments regarding the resolution of private disputes, as well as making decisions that do not comply with the mandatory behavioral norms set by the state.
The members of this group, upon receiving and executing Avetisyan's orders, have participated in the criminal organization and furthered its goals.
Necessary measures continue to be implemented within the scope of the criminal proceedings to ensure a comprehensive investigation of the case.
During a search at the residence of Karen Varosyan, who holds a status of criminal authority, ten cannabis plants were found in a self-constructed building next to his apartment, which served as an office for the Varosyan brothers. Additionally, digital scales and over 100 grams of a greenish substance resembling marijuana were seized, along with 0.37 grams of a blue substance and 0.71 grams of a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Expert assessments have been appointed for the seized substances and a Beretta pistol with eight cartridges. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
