Sona Mnatsakanyan's Relatives Appeal to International Bodies

The newspaper "Joghovurd" reports that the relatives of Sona Mnatsakanyan, who tragically died after being hit by a vehicle from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's motorcade, have reached out to international organizations, including US Ambassador to Armenia Lyn M. Tracy, the Bundestag of Germany, and the Chair of the Armenian National Assembly's Permanent Commission on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan.

The relatives of the deceased woman have expressed concerns regarding the actions of law enforcement in the criminal case surrounding Sona's death. It has been revealed that the accused in the case has not yet been detained. Recall that on April 26, Sona Mnatsakanyan, who was pregnant, was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident. Her family members and lawyer Raffi Aslanyan insist that several pieces of evidence have not been presented to investigators by the relevant police department. "We view this as destruction of evidence. These pieces of evidence are crucial for the correct legal assessment of the actions of other individuals involved, as well as significantly important for evaluating the driver's actions regarding his flight from the scene of the incident," Aslanyan stated in an interview with the newspaper.

Accusations of evidence destruction have been dismissed as baseless by the accuser's lawyer, Ruben Baloyan. "If this continues in this manner, we will file a report for false accusation," he assured us, asserting that no evidence has been destroyed in this case.
