22-Year-Old Driver Rolls Off Several Meters with Prado and Ends Up in Green Zone; Driver and 2 Passengers Hospitalized
Today, on July 7, an accident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 02:30, 22-year-old Alen Mkrtchyan, a resident of Kapan, lost control of his Prado vehicle near building number 2 on Hunan Avetisyan Street. He veered off the road, collided with the curb stones, and rolled approximately 6 meters into a green zone.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, as a result of the accident, passengers Ashot Babajanyan, 20, and Davit Baghdasaryan, 22, both residents of Kapan, were assisted by citizens to exit the vehicle and were transported to the 'Kapan' Hospital.
Firefighters disconnected the vehicle from power and closed the gas cylinder valve, then extricated the driver from the car and brought him closer to the ambulance.
The regional investigative department of Syunik has initiated a criminal case into the accident, with an investigative team arriving under the supervision of a senior investigator.
According to G. Shamsyan, as a result of the accident, debris from the Prado damaged the side mirror of a parked VAZ 2121 vehicle nearby.
