Five Rockets Fall from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan
Five rockets fell in Uzbekistan, reportedly launched from the Afghan border. This was announced on Tuesday by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The munitions did not detonate upon impact, thus there have been no significant damages or casualties. According to the diplomatic service's Telegram channel, "Four private houses in the Mahalla Majnuntoli neighborhood of Termez city were slightly damaged, and the fifth shell was found in a football field. The discovered shells have been neutralized by a mine-clearing unit."
Uzbek authorities, together with their Afghan counterparts, are investigating the causes of the incident, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Notably, the Afghan-Uzbek border is the shortest of Uzbekistan's external borders, measuring 144 kilometers (89 miles), stretching from the border junction with Turkmenistan to the border junction with Tajikistan along the Amu Darya River.
