Fatal Pedestrian Incident in Ararat Province: 1-Year-Old Child Dies
A fatal pedestrian incident occurred in Ararat Province. Yesterday, on July 4, around 19:40, the police department in Ararat received a report from the ‘Ararat’ medical center regarding a child who had been brought in with ‘polytrauma, combined severe craniocerebral injury, microhemorrhage, biological death’ diagnoses.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Ararat police department, led by the on-duty responsible officer, went to the hospital. A team from the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Ararat provincial investigative department, headed by investigator Zohrapyan, also arrived at the scene.
Police have identified the deceased as 1-year-old Tigran M., a resident of Avshar village. It was also determined that on the same day, around 18:50, Mesrop M., a 33-year-old resident of the same village, backed up his Nissan X-Trail, hitting the child, who was then transported to the ‘Ararat’ medical center in a deceased state. Mesrop M. has reported to the Ararat police department, and the vehicle has been placed in a secure area.
