Fast Tracking the Controversial Law through Extraordinary Sessions: 'Hraparak'

According to the 'Hraparak' newspaper, the National Assembly of Armenia has convened extraordinary sessions again on July 6. The agenda has not yet been confirmed, but members of the ruling Civil Contract Party (CPP) assure that they will primarily discuss and adopt ongoing drafts that are up for a second reading.

The CPP plans to expedite discussions and amendments to the controversial Defense Law during this vacation season, when most people are on holiday and there is less public outcry. They aim to accomplish this in a 24-hour format.

It seems that tomorrow's extraordinary session will not be the last, as lawmakers are expected to participate in more meetings before the vacation begins on July 16.
