“Die, but gather that grass”: Lukashenko
In Belarus, the current harvest must take place at the highest level of organization and discipline, as grain loss can be regarded as economic sabotage. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers.
The information is reported by “Газету.Ru”.
“As a farmer, I’ll tell you: die, but gather that grass if you want to be able to feed the livestock in winter,” Lukashenko declared.
The Belarusian leader also considered the potential losses in case of failure in harvesting efforts. “One million tons of loss, do you understand how much money that is today? You can earn half a billion dollars. We do not provide such assistance to the village as you lose in the fields. That is a huge sum,” he noted.
