Ukraine Reports Infrastructure Damage Costing Billions
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, has announced that the damage to the country's infrastructure as a result of military operations amounts to $95 billion. The information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“Currently, almost 100% of our budget is directed towards military and social assistance needs. And every month, we have a deficit of $5 billion. The damage to infrastructure has reached $95 billion,” Kubrakov stated.
He also noted that over the past three months, 43 temporary crossing points have been opened at border checkpoints, 13 railway bridges and crossings have been restored, and more than a thousand kilometers of roads have been cleared.
“Thanks to the efforts of the state and business, it has already been possible to increase cargo transportation at the Danube ports by about four times. We are building logistics at the western borders, and it is already possible to talk about an increase in cargo transport,” the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.
