Deputy Prosecutors Will Submit Resignations: Who Will Not Be Dismissed

According to the newspaper «Zhoghovurd», the atmosphere at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia is already tense. Although Anna Vardapetyan will take over the position of the Prosecutor General on September 15, some officials at the Prosecutor's Office are already prepared to resign before her arrival.

Specifically, according to our sources, Deputy Prosecutors General Hayk Aslanyan and Military Prosecutor Vahe Harutyunyan are expected to submit their resignation letters before Anna Vardapetyan's arrival. This means they will not wait to be dismissed but will proactively resign.

The situation is somewhat different for Deputy Prosecutor General Armen Afandyan, as there is confidence within the office that Anna Vardapetyan will not work with him, so he too will be dismissed in one way or another.

The only deputy who may remain in the office is Gevorg Baghdasaryan, who will not be dismissed. The reason is that although he is a friend of prosecutor Davtyan, he is also one of the prosecutors involved in the March 1 case and has provided service to the political authority.
