Armenian Women Trafficked to Dubai for Prostitution

Armenuhy Petrosyan has been charged with facilitating prostitution by conspiring to send women from Armenia to Dubai for the purpose of engaging in sex work. This was allegedly done in coordination with her mother, Susanna Hrant Petrosyan, who lives in Armenia. Together, they sought out women interested in going abroad to work as prostitutes, according to Armlur.am.

It was reported that in December 2012, after learning from Susanna Petrosyan that a resident of Ararat province, Armine Avetisyan, expressed interest in such a venture, the two arranged for transport. Following their agreement and after sending the necessary invitation and travel expenses for Armine Avetisyan, Armenuhy Petrosyan organized her departure from Armenia on December 25, 2012.

Upon her arrival in Dubai, Armenuhy Petrosyan assisted Armine Avetisyan by providing her with clients and negotiating terms regarding payment and other issues related to her involvement in prostitution, thereby obtaining financial gains while enabling Avetisyan to engage in sex work for about one and a half months.
