World's Richest People Lose Nearly $1.5 Trillion
The world’s 500 richest individuals lost $1.4 trillion during the first half of 2022, marking the largest decline in wealth among billionaires. This information was reported by Bloomberg.
Tesla owner Elon Musk saw his fortune decrease by nearly $62 billion, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos lost $63 billion. Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's wealth was cut in half.
Despite the drop in wealth, the world’s richest individuals maintain their positions in the rankings. Musk still holds the largest fortune at $208.5 billion, with Bezos in second place at $129.6 billion, followed by France's richest man and LVMH Group president Bernard Arnault with a fortune of $128.7 billion.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranks fourth with a wealth of $114.8 billion.
