Record Number of Migrants Arrive in Great Britain

In June, over 3,000 migrants arrived in Great Britain via boats crossing the English Channel. This marks a record high for the first half of 2022, according to Sky News.

According to the channel, during the first six months of this year, a total of 12,700 migrants made the journey to Great Britain via this route. On average, there were 33 people on each boat.

In recent years, Great Britain has frequently faced criticism for its immigration policies, notably from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Last year, more than 28,000 people crossed the Channel in small boats, with the majority originating from Iran, Iraq, Eritrea, and Syria.
