Major Car Accident in Aragatsotn Province: Driver in Critical Condition, Several Injured

Today, on July 2, a major car accident occurred in the Aragatsotn province. Around 14:00, Vardan H., a 32-year-old resident of Syunik province, lost control of his Hyundai Sonata on the 83 km stretch of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway while heading towards Yerevan. The car veered into oncoming traffic, crashed into several concrete barriers, and flipped over.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the accident resulted in injuries to the driver Vardan H. and passengers, including 81-year-old Razmik A., 56-year-old Marine A., and 36-year-old Karen Sh., all residents of Yerevan. They were transported to the Talin medical center.

The first responders were Henrik Matevosyan, a police officer from the Shirak province patrol unit, and junior officer Arthur Mkrtchyan.

The injured were subsequently transferred to various hospitals in Yerevan. The driver’s condition is assessed as critical.

By order of the investigator, the vehicle, after being restored to its upright position by representatives of a Chinese company conducting construction work in the area, was taken to the special parking lot of the Talin Police Department.
