Yair Lapid Officially Assumes Office as Prime Minister of Israel
The leader of the Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid, has officially taken over the office of Prime Minister in Israel. This was reported by the state radio 'Kan'. Thus, he becomes the 14th Prime Minister in the history of the state.
It was previously reported that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had resigned. The politician also announced the dissolution of the Knesset (parliament) of the country.
Israel will soon hold its fifth parliamentary elections in the last four years. The leaders of the leading parties, after Benjamin Netanyahu's resignation from the Prime Minister position in June of the previous year, had agreed to rotate their leaders in the role of government head.
As for Bennett, he has managed to take responsibility for his mistakes. The politician admitted that he regrets not being able to achieve greater success in the role of Prime Minister.
