Vahe Hakobyan Dismissed from Position
Vahe Hakobyan, a member of the "Hayastan" faction, has been dismissed from his position as the chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Affairs Standing Committee. In a closed ballot, 66 members voted in favor of his removal, with 0 votes against.
It is noteworthy that the initiative to remove Hakobyan from the chairmanship came from the "Civil Contract" faction. During the first half of the 8th convocation of the National Assembly, Hakobyan did not participate in 194 out of a total of 342 votes and was absent for 20 out of 25 convened council meetings.
"The Civil Contract faction aims to elect a new chairman for the Economic Affairs Standing Committee, who will participate in the council meetings and properly fulfill their responsibilities, ensuring the committee's natural operation," stated Civil Contract member Tsovinar Vardanyan during today’s extraordinary session.
