Turkey Calls Sweden and Finland's NATO Membership a Threat to Kaliningrad

Turkish Yeni Safak journalist Serenur Yassikayan has stated that the accession of Sweden and Finland to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) poses a threat to Kaliningrad.

It was noted that in this scenario, the city would be “completely surrounded by NATO member countries, and the Baltic Sea would turn into a NATO lake.” Yassikayan believes that Moscow will respond to the entry of these countries by strengthening its presence in the Baltic and North Seas.

The journalist also did not rule out the possibility of enhanced military cooperation between the Russian Federation and China, potentially marking the start of a second Cold War.
