The ‘Armenia’ and ‘I Have Honor’ factions have issued a statement

The ‘Armenia’ and ‘I Have Honor’ factions of the National Assembly have issued a statement:

“Dear compatriots, It is already known that the current authorities have made decisions to recall NA Vice President Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vahe Hakobian from their positions.

The absurdity of the situation lies in the fact that this is happening to divert the public's attention from the existing security challenges, the potential threats of war they themselves have announced, the issue of Berdzor, new concessions, and the failure to return prisoners of war home to date.

From the very first day of entering Parliament, we stated that NA administrative positions are not an end in themselves for us, but rather tools to support opposition activities, which arise from the Constitution and the vote given by the people.

It is a fact that the current authorities have long drawn a line against the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and legality in general. This conduct and the preceding behavior are indicators of a stable dictatorship, which is unprecedented, while on the other hand, the political crisis in Armenia is deepening.

Despite the obvious retreat of parliamentarism, the international community stubbornly tries not to notice the existing situation, whereas such behavior from the authorities should elicit a sharp and immediate reaction.

With this behavior, the current authorities once again confirm that they are exclusively concerned with positions, engaged in persecutions, deprived of any opportunity to confront the challenges facing the country, lack legitimacy, and do not represent the interests of Armenia and Artsakh, making their removal inevitable.”
